The Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC) held its 110th Meeting of the Executive Committee on 29 and 30 September 2026 in Lima, Peru, with the participation of 18 Member States and 11 observers. The opening ceremony featured remarks by Mr. Julio Peña Guzmán, President of LACAC and of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) of the Dominican Republic; Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), who participated virtually; and Ms. Lizbeth Corrales, Director of Regulation, Promotion and Development, representing Peru’s Civil Aviation Authority. During the meeting, the Member States agreed to support Mr. Marcial Eduardo Vidal Arriagada of Chile as a candidate for the ICAO Air Navigation Commission (ANC), reaffirming the region’s commitment to Latin American representation in the technical bodies of international civil aviation.
