On 9 November, within the framework of the XXVI LACAC Assembly, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, liberalizing combined passenger and cargo transport services up to the sixth freedom of the air.
The Secretariat highlighted that this instrument, approved by the Executive Committee, complements existing agreements and represents a significant step toward the progressive opening of the region’s air markets. The event was presented through a video intervention by Argentina’s Undersecretary of Air Transport, Hernán Gómez. On this occasion, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay signed the instrument, which will remain available for signature by all LACAC member States.
