During the 42nd ICAO Assembly, the Chairwoman of LACAC, Azucena Zelaya, delivered a speech on behalf of the Commission, highlighting the historic milestone of being the first woman to preside over LACAC since its creation in 1973. She emphasized the importance of the Lima Declaration and noted that LACAC’s plans are fully aligned with ICAO’s Strategic Plan, also highlighting regional progress in integration and operational safety achieved with the valuable support of ICAO’s SAM and NACC Regional Offices (Video of the speech here).
