On the sidelines of the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, the CLAC President, Mr. Julio Peña Guzmán, accompanied by the LACAC Secretary, Mr. Jaime Binder, held a bilateral meeting on 8 September 2026 with Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Captain Dr. Sameh Ahmed Zaky El-Hefny, whom he thanked for the invitation on behalf of the LACAC Member States. Both officials agreed on the importance of fostering opportunities for dialogue to bring Arab countries and those of Latin America and the Caribbean closer together, with particular emphasis on the role of civil aviation in strengthening relations between the two regions.
