On 15 April, during GISS 2026 in Marrakech, LACAC held a bilateral meeting with the President of the ICAO Council, Toshiyuki Onuma, and the Secretary General, Juan Carlos Salazar. The meeting reaffirmed the strong institutional coordination between both organizations and the convergence of priorities in support of strengthening regional civil aviation. The discussion highlighted the strategic value of LACAC-led capacity-building initiatives, particularly in aviation judicial training, as well as the importance of consolidating active and coordinated participation of regional States in key decision-making processes and forums of international civil aviation.
