The Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC) held their fifth meeting in Doha, Qatar, on 15 April 2025. The meeting agenda focused on the process of ratifying the protocols amending Articles 50(a) and 56 of the Chicago Convention of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), coordination efforts in preparation for the 42nd ICAO Assembly, and identifying areas of cooperation for the current year.
The meeting was opened and chaired by His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Attendees included Mr. Florent Serge Dzota, President of the African Civil Aviation Commission and Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Congo; Mr. Alessio Quaranta, President of the European Civil Aviation Conference; and Ms. Ingrid Azucena Zelaya Florian, President of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission and Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority in Guatemala.
Also present were Ms. Adefunke Adeyemi, Secretary General of the African Civil Aviation Commission; Mr. Abdennebi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization; Ms. Patricia Reverdy, Executive Secretary of the European Civil Aviation Conference; and Mr. Jaime Binder, Secretary of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission.
During the meeting, the regional civil aviation organizations reaffirmed their strong commitment to deepening cooperation among themselves and ensuring a unified approach towards the safe and sustainable development of global air transport.
