The Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC) welcomes the election of its candidate, Marcial Vidal Arriagada, an official of Chile’s Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics, as a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Air Navigation Commission (ANC), where he will occupy one of the two new seats following the expansion of this body from 19 to 21 experts. His candidacy received the unanimous support of Member States during the Executive Committee meeting held in September in Lima, Peru. With more than 35 years of experience in air navigation, Mr. Vidal has served as an observer to the ANC and as Chile’s Alternate Representative to the ICAO Council. LACAC extends its congratulations to Mr. Vidal and Chile, highlighting that this outcome strengthens Latin American participation in the development of international civil aviation technical standards.
