The third International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3) took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 20 to 24, 2023. Delegations from Latin America and the Caribbean actively participated in the conference, making efforts to achieve a global agreement. As a result of the meeting, states agreed on a ‘Global ICAO Framework for SAF, LCAF, and other cleaner energies in aviation,’ providing a clear signal to the market for future investments in producing such fuels, especially Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).
