On August 11, the Secretary participated in the Presentation Ceremony of the Pro Tempore Presidency of Peru in the Pacific Alliance, held at the Government Palace and led by the Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, who received it from Chile. On that occasion, the head of state stated that The Pacific Alliance is the eighth-largest economy in the world, accounting for over 57% of regional trade and attracting 45% of foreign direct investment flows.
