Acuerdo Multilateral de Cielos Abiertos para los Estados Miembros CLAC
En la Asamblea Ordinaria XIX de la CLAC, celebrada en Santo Domingo – República Dominicana, en noviembre de 2010, se acordó exhortar a los Estados miembros de la CLAC, suscribir al Acuerdo Multilateral de Cielos Abiertos de la región, de forma inmediata y/o de manera gradual.
El objeto y fin del acuerdo es proporcionar cielos abiertos a los Estados miembros de CLAC, mediante el otorgamiento de derechos de tráfico entre dichos Estados miembros y con terceros países (3ra, 4ta, 5ta y 6ta libertad).
Además, es posible aumentar los derechos mencionados, pues también se contempla para los Estados que así lo determinen: la séptima libertad para los servicios de carga exclusiva; la séptima libertad para los servicios combinados de pasajeros y carga; y el derecho a cabotaje, es decir, la octava y novena libertad.
El depositario del Acuerdo es la Secretaría de la CLAC en Lima, Perú. El Acuerdo ha sido firmado por 9 Estados miembros de CLAC y está abierto para la adhesión de los Estados que aún no lo han hecho.
